Great Textbooks

I don't have to read a lot of actual textbooks for my English classes, but I'm taking a lot of history classes this semester. I've noticed a few other people talking about this on Twitter recently. I never knew textbooks could be so interesting! My American History textbook in particular is written in a way that really captures my attention. I never find myself dozing off with that book. It's not one of those things where I'm just really interested in the subject either, because I've read textbooks I found incredibly boring on subjects I was really interested in.

How about you? Have you had any really good experiences with textbooks?
