From the ashes a phoenix will rise...

Today I tackled the box.


The box had remained sealed in my wardrobe since last December; it had been deliberately ignored and pushed away.


In the box were all of the remnants of a failed relationship. Many cards and trinkets; celebrating everything from six months of being together through to engagement and everything in-between. 


I don't know if watching Eat Pray Love today steeled me for the task but it was time to act. I decided that having carried out enough cremations in the past it was time to perform one last one.

These words and unfulfilled promises I take,

with incense and love, no bitterness remains,

 and with burning flame I purify and cleanse them.

They are transformed to dust and ashes;

and are committed to the earth.
