A staccato rhythm of piercing red and blue danced in her vision. Jo barely noticed it; the scene before her made no sense. She clawed at her clothes as tears streamed down her cheeks. It just wasn't supposed to be this way.

I really like the first sentence in this! It was a great set up...I read it not sure at first what it meant, then it became clear. Very interesting take on the prompt!
