This week's FSF prompt is Horror:
Toby lay perfectly still; the moon, picking out his silhouette in marble hues, shines brightly through his window. The things can't see him if he doesn't move. Grasping his ragged teddy tighter he struggles to control his breaths; they can smell fear. He knows they are waiting and are patient. The night is long.
Real danger or imaginary terrror? Whichever answer is the truth it seems that young Toby is in for a horrifying time! Comments, opinions and criticism most welcome!
Poor kid! I can remember being terrified to go to sleep when I was little, I always had to have a light on. I just knew something was coming to get me! Then, one time my grandpa told me that with the nightlight on the 'boogie monster' could see me. Even now, I can't sleep with any lights on!
ReplyDeleteNice job!
ohhhhh, I remember having to lie still like that when I was a kid just in case the monsters knew I was there! The night seems to take forever when you are scared for your life ;)
