Unsigned gems...

I love a good female vocalist anyone from Edith Piaf and Eartha Kitt, right through to Norah Jones and Katie Meluha. So, it is a real pleasure to share the music of two very talented ladies that I have recently come across: Kiersten Holine and Laura Cox.

Both woman are proficient singers, guitarists and song writers.

Laura Cox is from France. Her covers tend to mimic the originals' arrangements closely but are no less impressive for that. Her skills on the guitar are fantastic and she has a strong singing voice. A good example is her cover of the Guns 'n Roses song 'Patience'.

Laura also writes original material and I really enjoy her piece 'Cowboys and Beer', which has a strong southern country feel to it.

Kiersten Holine hails from the United States. Her cover versions are very much her own, she sings her own arrangements and the pieces take on a very unique sound. Here she is singing 'White Blank Page' by Mumford and sons.

She has also written a number of original songs including the track 'Ignoble'.

Both these artists are talented and worth listening to, so go check them out!
