Once Upon a Time Read-a-Thon Starting line!

Alright, so as everyone should know by now, I'm a complete sucker for a read-a-thon. There is something about the idea of being handed an excuse to ignore everyone and everything and just READ that seriously appeals to me.:) You can all relate to that, right?!

So, Candace, Lori and Angela (all names linked to their respective blogs) are once again hosting the Once Upon a Time Read-a-thon. And, if I'm remembering right, this was my very first read-a-thon last year when I very first started my blog. I'm so excited to have come back to it again, and I'm really hoping I get a lot read!

The read-a-thon will last from Monday to Wednesday from midnight to midnight. You have the option of starting in EST, or your own timezone. I'm personally going to read by my own time zone (MST) and hope it goes well.:) I do have to work each day this week, but if it's slow, I'll have a chance to read while I'm there. (Cross your fingers for me!) I also have some other things going on after I get home from work that will eat into my reading time, but I'm hoping I'll still be able to get a lot accomplished.

There are also going to be mini-challenges hosted over the course of the next few days and I've got one going up on Wednesday! I'm pretty excited for it, and hope you will all participate!:)

There are a few books that I know I have to get read, because I have specific dates I need to have the reviews up by, so I'm hoping to mix it up a bit, get a bunch of review books read, but toss in a few books read, just because I want to. We'll see what happens!!

I know I need to read

The Kid — Sapphire (my review goes up Tuesday: P)

and Raw Blue — Kirsty Egar (reading as part of a tour w/ Linds @ Bibliophile Brouhaha)

and Kara, Lost — Susan Niz (review goes up Friday)

So, those are the books that I absolutely must get read, but I'm also hoping to whittle down my tbr pile by at least 8 books, more if I can manage it.

So, the other books I'm hoping to try and read are

Gathering Blue — Lois Lowry (reread)
Messenger — Lois Lowry (reread)
The Beginning of After — Jennifer Castle
Want to Go Private? — Sarah Littman
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour — Morgan Matson
Ashfall — Mike Mullin

I know I won't get to all of these but a girl can hope, right?! There are also a bunch of other books I know I want to read soon, like Sean Griswold's Head, Deadline, Twenty Boy Summer, Between Shades of Gray, and Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie that I really want to get read, and might add into the reading mix. We'll see how it goes.

Any of you read-a-thoning too?! If you are, let me know! I love reading/update buddies! Especially on Twitter! During read-a-thons, I spend a majority of my 'online' time updating the blog post & Goodreads and then checking out the read-a-thon happenings on Twitter. So Tweet my if you want to be reading/update buddies! More are always welcome! I'm @BasicallyBooks!
