Olympic clouds

The transparent bubbles will soar over the main stadium of Olympic Games '12. This digital cloud will serve as a viewing platform, and also will be the stand for the huge plasma display.
Clouds over London

Initiators "The Cloud" say, that the thought on a congestion of manned bubbles "has sprouted" from works of the German designer of the Argentina origin of Tomas Saraceno which built time and again inflatable sculptures and installations of a thin transparent film.

In all cases the plan provided interaction of object and spectators who were offered to plunge into a construction, and even to "do some flying" in clouds.

Design kilometre

The given architectural decision for Hua Qiang Bei Road in the Chinese city of Shenzhen command WORKac has offered. 5 Exclusive Lanterns
The project consists from “5 conceptual lanterns”, each of which has the function. Lanterns are visible from apart — by the way, during day heat they create a shade.

Rising of the New Moon

The Economic Moon
Financial crisis — not a hindrance for scale building of the landscape park Zabil. «The new Moon» becomes the central construction of the project. The construction in the form of a half moon — a symbol of force and energy of the countries of the East — will tell about today's prosperity of the United Arab Emirates.

National Ecological Institute in South Korea

Park of the United Nations

The Global Green Project
The project of Park of the World has been initiated by a municipal government of the city of Chungju in honor of that now the Secretary general of the United Nations is the native of this city, Ban Ki-Moon. Having stretched on river Namhangang coast, the project becomes the new city center.

The building in the form of an ellipse, the maximum diameter — 60 meters becomes United Nations monument. In a building of 8 floors + a basement floor. The Futuristic Structure
For the next addition to a sky of the city of Dubai architectural studio Graft Lab answers. The new object is called “Vertical Village”. This set of multifunctional buildings applies on LEED Gold Certificate.
The architectural decision is optimized for climatic conditions of a place; the building minimizes heating from the sun and on-maximum uses possibilities for solar energy manufacture.
The building for itself creates a shade, in northern block, and on east and a West side is built in such a manner that penetration of long solar beams is complicated.

New photo «The Shard»

New photos of a tower “The Shard”, a multi-functional building which will construct near to London Bridge are published. Design: Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
Works on building of a building in height of 306 metres which should be placed on a place of the wrong form near to station “London Bridge” have begun. The tower is a part of new building, London Bridge Quarter.

The design concept: some front glass blocks which are located under an inclination inside, but not incorporating completely. The image is inspired by ship masts by which Thames has once been filled.

On 72 floors offices, apartments, hotel, the trading areas and restaurants will be placed; in the top, survey part of a building (15 floors) the gallery will be placed.

The tower will be constructed on a place of a building of 1970 year of construction (Southwark Tower) which has been decided to dismantle for preparation of a place of building. The project is planned to finish by 2012th year.

Architects Herzog & de Meuron have developed design of the central office for Spanish bank group BBVA.
Bank on suburbs of Madrid

In this cold, reserved place architects have suggested to erect an artificial garden, an oasis which would involve outside inside. Zaha Hadid Architects has shown the project office and shopping centre “The Stone Towers” which will construct in capital of Egypt, Cairo.

Berg Arkitektkontor + Foster + Partners = City Quay
Foster + Partners, the well-known architectural bureau from Britain, will create the project of reconstruction of quay in Stockholm.

Works are conducted in common with the Swedish architects from Berg Arkitektkontor. Architects intend to dismantle a part of the motorways lying over a surface of water which will replace with the foot paths connecting areas Södermalm and Gamla Stan.

Lubetkin Prize has got to the bird's nest

National Stadium in Beijing which in the people is called “the birds nest”, has received prestigious Lubetkin Prize, founded Royal Institute of British Architects, RIBA, as the most outstanding architectural work outside of the European Union.
Speaking about a building, the main judge of the award and President RIBA, Sunand Prasad has told: “this year the short list looked excellently. Discussion was long, however the result is obvious”.
The National Stadium is a project of architectural company Herzog and de Meuron, executed together with China Architectural Design and research Group, Arup Sport and Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong), artist Ai Wei Wei.

Circles of the applicants who have entered into a short list: Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal, project Foster and Partners together with NACO and Beijing Institute of Architectural Design; Watercube, National Swimming Centre, project PTW Architects together with China State Construction and Engineering Corporation; building Museum Brandhorst in Munich; Sean O’Casey Community Centre in Dublin; building The British High Commission in Sri Lanka, project Richard Murphy Architects.

The project jury in which structure were Sunand Prasad RIBA President, Tony Chapman, RIBA Head of Awards Paul Monaghan, the architect and Chair of the RIBA Awards Group Alison Brooks, architect Tom Dyckhoff — have visited all six buildings-applicants.

Steven Holl Architects have connected buildings in a multipurpose hybrid

Steven Holl Architects have finished building of the multipurpose complex consisting of eight towers connected among themselves.

The project has been named by the Best High-rise Building 2009 in Asia and Australia in competition which has taken place under home nursing Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. In a complex premises, hotel, a cinema, a children's garden, school, an underground parking, the commercial areas, public park are provided.
Eight towers are connected among themselves by a series of high-rise bridges which, by analogy to skyscrapers, have been named “skybridges”.
Architects hope, that this project will award Gold LEED Gold Certification, as the largest "green" multipurpose building. Geothermal wells under the base provide with depth of 100 metres heating in the winter and cooling in the summer.

The pond in the complex centre will detain the processed water used in buildings, in the winter a pond will freeze and turn to a skating rink.

Landing Stage by Angus Meek

Bristol architect Angus Meek has won competition on restoration of landing stage Weston-super-Mare which have suffered in a fire in July of this year, having bypassed architects of five firms, including Grimshaw. Colourful and the shone 18 metre design which will cost not less than 10 million pounds sterling, has been chosen by owners of a mooring and 59% from 20,000 respondents voting for the project.

At present works on district to start building in January, 2009 are conducted.

That the building has sustained a non-standard inclination, it is placed on a concrete facade by depth of 2,1 metres; the design represents architectural system in the form of a steel diagonal lattice, which leaves in the earth on 30 metres to provide stability to winds, gravitational and seismic.
